Exhibition opening Sunday 29th January 2011 at 1.00pm. Rick is a photographer from Queanbeyan who has been interested in photography for many years but has only started to exhibit his work in the last five years. He has had some highlights by winning the “Calendar of Canberra” several times also had success in shows with three 1st places and Best in Show and Championship ribbons.

After sell-out shows in the 2010 and 2011 Melbourne International Comedy Festivals the guys (and now girl, yeah, a real-life girl!) from Capital Punishment are heading back in 2012. On their way to Melbourne, they’ll be doing a run of ACT and NSW regional dates.

The line-up has a familiar flavour to last year with festival veteran Kale Bogdanovs, Rafe Morris and Greg Kimball returning; with gifted festival newcomers Jez Margosis and Marie Helou joining the ride in 2012. There will also be a host of special guest performers joining the Capital Punishment crew on the night.

The self-funded group of semi-professionals hopes to see a huge crowd at what will be a fundraiser to cover their costs in Melbourne, including travel, accommodation and masses of cheese and bacon balls.

Matt Dent plays live at the Bushranger

Country / Folk Rock / Roots Music

Matt Dent grew up in Central NSW and now abides in the small country town of
Murrumbatemen, just outside Canberra (Australia’s capital city).

After
spending years busking around the towns, cities and festivals of Central NSW
(and learning his craft by connecting live with people through places like
Lismore, Nimbin, South East Coastal region and Canberra) Matt rambled into
Melbourne town to record his debut EP “We Found Out”.

Matt recorded
with roots Producer Jamie X, who has worked with artists from bands such as Ben
Harper, Jack Johnson, The Cat Empire, John Butler and many others. “We Found
Out” is a mixture of roots, reggae, folk and rock. This world class debut EP was
mastered in the US by the legendary Bob Ludwig (U2, Coldplay and Crowded House).

They are now currently working on Matt’s debut LP (at this stage
untitled). This will be an album that captures the heart and soul of Aussie Pub
rock fused with elements of roots, folk and blues. It is scheduled for release
in September/October 2011 followed by a national tour.

Mississippi Shakedown is a Band with a minimum
of FUSS and a maximum of EFFECT.

A 4-piece unit led by Blues charged SLIDE GUITAR, with a “Don’t
Bore Us, Get to the Chorus” attitude! With influence from the deep south, these
guys have heart. This band was not created to play in a restaurant.

Fronted by Mississippi Jeff Cripps, three times Australian Blues Music
Awards: Producer Of The Year on slide guitar and vocals, with Wayne Leffler on
Mandolin, Harp, Guitar and Vocals, the Band is driven by John Gannon on bass
with Derek Smith on drums in the engine room!!

With GRAND performances
at the Goulburn, Thredbo, Launceston, Newcastle, Forth Valley, Junee, Gosford,
